THAT'S RIGHT ''MARSHALL'' JMP-1 FOR LIVE...

YOURS,,, DAWK...

PS: OH YEAH,,, ANOTHER BIG CHANGE IS: I WENT FROM STAINLESS STEEL STRINGS TO NICKEL... (THIS WAS MY IDEA AFTER ALL THESE YEARS)...

That explains a lot, nickel gives that "rounder" deeper sound heard on GOW, not as bright as steel sets (guess you're sticking with DR - the "sole survivor" for sotck gear). What is lost in brightness is gained in low end - and I recall you saying that Joey was leaning to a sound with more bottom end, hence D tuning and all those other changes... Will we ever see Joey using flatwounds? ;D

DAWK SAYS:

THE NEW STRINGS I'M USING ARE ''D'ADDARIO'' (EXL 160)...

THIS IS WHY THEIRS A MAJOR CHANGE IN ''JOEY'S'' SOUND...

WE STILL USE ''DR'' ON SOME BASSES...

FLAT WOUNDS ''DOH'' NO WAY...

YOURS,,, DAWK...

Any hints on the JMP1 settings? Stock, that is :-[ (maybe I can put mine sounding a little better...) ;D

DAWK SAYS:

YOU HAVE TO PROGRAM THE JMP-1,,, JUST LIKE A SAMPLER...

I WILL,,, TAKE A FEW HOURS TO DIAL IN A GOOD SOUND...

In Gods of War track, at first I didn't recognize the bass at all! In the verse part, the bass had such a clean percussive sound it looked like a triggered D-tuned drum kick! I thought: No way this is (joey's) bass guitar! But it was :o (Figured it out by the slide technique - that hasn't changed ;D - in the end of the riff)

Confirmed! ;D
In GOW - Live, at the beginning of "Holy War", the bass sounds exactly like the beginning of "Gods of War" from GOW studio.
Great job, Dawk! 8-) (I bet it wasn't easy duplicating that sound live...)

Hi guys...
..which new rules are you talking about Jerry...?...where can I find those...?...And why am I not able to see the Marshall Major forum...?...again..?
Best regards
Daniel

It will,,, be called the ''THE ASSHOLE REPORT''.

DAWK"S time is very valuable and i will be controlling his form.

The problem seems to be with the Blackmore's stuff.

DAWK is the only one that knows ritchie's stuff and is posting about them.

He has given away to much stuff for free.

He's tired of everybody coming to the well and dipping in and leaving less water every time.

Being slammed by the clueless ASSHOLES.

Ever wondered why he never posted on this stuff earlier.

This is why he may close the whole forum.

How would you want to be treated.

He never knock anybody on any forum or email.

He just called them cowboys or he would call them unprofessionals.

No names were every used. He never attacked anybody.

Jerry

IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I HAD TO GO TO THIS LEVEL WITH ''THE ASSHOLE REPORT''...

SORRY ALL...

it's about posting own mods, or what you can have read on the internet and copy here, as i inopportunely done in my last post (didn't want to cause wrong, doing that).

as a manowar "addict", be sure this was not my intention.

Dawk and Jerry are professionnals, and can help us, to take a little their invaluable time, to distinguish what is useful of what is superfluous (and in this case, overskilled for most people).

i have now read the thread where Jerry explain why 3 part of this forum were closed, and i didn't tought (at the time i posted) my last post was this kind of problem that fed up dawk and jerry.

again i apologize for any inconvenience.

DAWK SAYS:

THANKS.........

SEE GUYS,,, IT'S ALL AS SIMPLE AS THAT...

YOU ARE WELCOME...

I fully understand that and totally agree with it....but the only thing I can apologize for right now is for hi jacking this thread....The only thing I remember writing about was a "somewhat" mod for my akai to be used as an echo..and that was my idea....I didn't even have Internet at that time I've done that.....
All other mods done to my guitar are things Dawk suggested...and I love that guitar like no other one....
I guess the other forum was created exactly to keep things like this away from Dawks forum as they don't belong here....not to take anything from him over there....You have inspired some of the folks to do their own thinking...Isn't that something to be proud of...?...And they respect you and this forum that much that they don't want to see you bothered by it....
Sorry again for hi jacking....I will stop now...:-S....
Best regards

Daniel

I'M STILL WORKING ON HOW TO CONTROL AND WRITE THE FORUM RULES...

WHAT A MESS,,, IT WILL,,, TAKE SOME TIME...

JUST BE PATIENT,,, I'M VERY BUSY WITH ''MANOWAR'' STUFF RIGHT NOW...

I look foward to seeing the rules because I definately dont want to offend anyone. Im really grateful to Dawk for the info he has shared. I have no technical skills at all. I even have to get a friend to wire my pickups! But have learned so much here about good tone and the elements that contribute to Ritchies amazing sound, of which I have been a fan for 27 years! I have also bought an MTC and raved about it publicly so I hope that demonstrates some of my gratitude and respect.

I'm just glad we still have the board. I was afraid of losing it because of ASSHOLES who rip off Dawk.

Anyway, thanks Dawk and Jerry for keeping the board open.

to go back to the subject of this thread.
Joey use JMP-1 live with channel switching from clean to OD, BUT
his basses are all stereo (except maybe for the acoustic 8)

so, he need two JMP1 ???
so you made a custom footswitch to control both with one footswitch ??

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

DAWK SAYS:

YES,,, HE USES TWO AND HAS (2) MORE AS BACKUP UNITS...

SWITCHING IS BY A MIDI CONTROLLER...
